Rules for using Blacklight Resumes

Eligibility And Acceptance

By using Blacklight Resumes, submitting a request, uploading materials, or accessing Blacklight-hosted status and delivery flows, you agree to these Terms of Use.

If you use the service or accept these Terms for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to act for that organization and to bind it to the applicable Terms and billing choices. If you do not have that authority, do not accept these Terms or authorize a charge.

An affirmative checkbox, button, or other electronic acceptance associated with your authenticated account is intended to be a binding electronic acceptance to the fullest extent permitted by law. Blacklight may retain the accepted Terms version, acceptance statement, account and role identifiers, timestamp, and limited security evidence so both parties can identify the agreement that applied.

You may use the service only if you can form a binding agreement with us and use the service in compliance with applicable law.

If you use Blacklight through a school, district, college, university, workforce program, library system, or other institution-led workflow, your use may also be subject to that organization’s rules, authorizations, and internal requirements.

What The Service Does

Blacklight Resumes provides resume-related services, which may include resumes, cover letters, interview prep, supplemental materials, status and delivery tools, partner-hosted or partner-referred request flows, special-event and sponsored-program review paths, and partner portal operations such as hosted links, embeds, reporting, and support workflows.

Features and deliverables may vary by package, tier, request type, or partner program.

No Employment Guarantee

Blacklight does not guarantee interviews, callbacks, offers, compensation outcomes, admissions decisions, hiring outcomes, or promotions. Resume and application materials are tools to support your search, not a guarantee of results.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• Upload only materials you have the right to submit
• Review final outputs before you use them
• Use the service only for lawful and legitimate purposes
• Do not impersonate another person, misuse status links, or attempt to bypass protected routes or account restrictions

Uploaded Materials And User Content

You retain ownership of the materials you submit, subject to the limited rights needed for us to store, process, analyze, transform, generate output from, and deliver those materials back to you.

By submitting files or content, you represent that you have the right to provide them.

Orders, Pricing, And Payment

Certain Blacklight services require payment before processing unless the request is comped, invoice-backed, partner-funded, or otherwise covered by a separate written arrangement.

Pricing, package limits, and included deliverables may change over time. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers, and we do not store full card details.

Recurring partner billing may include self-serve subscriptions, invoice-backed arrangements, scheduled renewal changes, immediate prorated upgrades, and next-renewal downgrades depending on the account type and workflow in use. Special-event and sponsored-program support may instead move through a one-time event quote or invoice-backed review before activation.

If a payment fails, is reversed, or is disputed, we may delay delivery, suspend related access, or take reasonable steps to protect the service and resolve the issue.

Partner Plans, Billing, And Review Workflows

Partner accounts may use standard self-serve plans, invoice-backed arrangements, or a meeting-based commercial review path when pricing, procurement, custom volume, multi-tier access, or nonstandard terms need to be confirmed before a billing change is made.

Recurring partner plans may use one of three monthly budget controls. A hard cap stops new recurring requests when included capacity is used. An approval-before-overage control permits only the additional quantity approved for the current billing month. A flexible-overage control permits recurring requests above included capacity up to the standing monthly quantity selected for the account.

Approved recurring overage sets a maximum, not a charge for unused allowance. Eligible recurring usage actually accepted above included capacity is billed at the overage rate in the active agreement and will not exceed the approved additional quantity. A separate signed order or agreement may state a minimum commitment. Changing a recurring budget control does not change included capacity, the contracted overage rate, special-event capacity, or location-level operational limits.

Billable-overage access is an account capability, not an entitlement. It is available only while the account has a current agreement with a positive overage rate and Blacklight has not suspended the capability. Blacklight may suspend or restore this capability for security, abuse prevention, billing risk, or contract-administration reasons. Suspension restores the hard stop for new recurring requests and does not erase previously accepted usage, invoices, authorizations, or audit history.

Only an Organization administrator or Billing manager may authorize recurring overage in the partner portal. Before saving, the portal generates a confirmation from the current agreement, overage rate, additional quantity, estimated maximum, and selected duration. The authorized user must select a business reason, provide context when choosing Other, confirm the generated statement, and complete fresh authenticator verification.

A current-usage-month authorization expires automatically at the next usage month and restores the hard stop. A standing authorization remains active until an authorized billing role restores the hard stop or Blacklight suspends the capability. Restoring the hard stop remains available during a security cooldown.

While a standing authorization remains active, Blacklight may display persistent portal warnings and send a reminder at the start of each usage month. Restoring the hard stop applies to new recurring requests; it does not erase usage already accepted, an issued invoice, or a prior authorization record.

Blacklight may temporarily block new overage authorization after a billing-role grant, MFA recovery or reset, or material account-identity change. Security receipts may be sent to all active Organization administrators and Billing managers when overage is authorized, the hard stop is restored, or overage access is suspended or restored.

Partner organizations are responsible for assigning billing roles carefully, protecting account credentials and authenticators, and removing access that is no longer authorized. Until Blacklight receives notice of suspected compromise and has a reasonable opportunity to act, Blacklight may reasonably rely on an authenticated billing role, fresh authenticator verification, and the explicit generated authorization. Contact Blacklight promptly if a receipt describes an unexpected change. Blacklight may suspend overage access while it investigates a good-faith dispute and may use the immutable authorization, acceptance, authentication, notice, usage, and audit records to evaluate what occurred. This process does not make an unauthorized charge valid or limit rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Special-event and sponsored-program requests are manual event-review workflows. The review may consider expected resume submissions, access window, participant-data mode, usage cap, billing or invoice contact, and turnaround requirements before any hosted setup, cap, or billing path changes.

A review request, quote state, or meeting booking does not by itself guarantee that a requested plan, term, or exception will be approved. The current active plan or paid term remains the controlling service state until a billing change is actually confirmed.

If a signed order, quote, or separate written agreement conflicts with these general Terms, that document controls only for the conflicting organization-specific commercial term. These Terms continue to govern the remaining use of the service.

Recurring Billing, Renewal, And Cancellation

Before a self-serve recurring partner subscription is activated, the checkout or Billing workspace identifies the current price or pricing method, billing frequency, included capacity, renewal timing, and how to cancel. A subscription renews only under the billing state and renewal terms shown for that account or stated in a separate written agreement.

An authorized Organization administrator or Billing manager may schedule cancellation of an active self-serve card-backed subscription from the partner Billing workspace. If the authorized user cannot access that workspace, the organization may use the contact page to request a supported cancellation path. Blacklight sends or displays confirmation when cancellation is scheduled.

Unless the account or a separate written agreement states otherwise, cancellation stops the next renewal and service remains available through the current paid period. Cancellation does not retroactively erase charges, accepted usage, minimum commitments, invoices, or payment obligations that arose before the cancellation became effective.

Recurring usage charges may vary with actual eligible usage, but they remain subject to the included capacity, contracted rate, and approved overage ceiling recorded for the applicable period. Billing records or invoices identify the usage and commercial terms applied. Restoring the hard stop prevents new recurring requests above included capacity without requiring subscription cancellation.

Invoice-backed subscriptions, purchase orders, and custom arrangements follow their accepted agreement for renewal, notice, payment, and termination where that agreement differs from the self-serve workflow.

Event Capacity, Reconciliation, And Sponsorship

Each accepted event quote or order identifies whether the event uses a fixed block or flexible capacity. It also states the package tier, unit price, access window, reserved capacity, applicable capacity fee, minimum commitment, spending cap, and approval rules. If an accepted event quote conflicts with these general event terms, the accepted quote controls the event-specific commercial terms.

Blacklight may record the accepting organizer representative, work email, title, written acceptance method and time, quote or order reference, terms version, and a versioned record of the accepted event terms to administer the event and preserve commercial evidence.

Under a fixed block, the organizer reserves and prepays a defined quantity for the event. Unused packages expire at the end of the stated access window unless the accepted quote expressly provides a credit, extension, or other treatment.

Under flexible capacity, the organizer pays any stated nonrefundable capacity or setup fee and prepays the stated minimum commitment. After the reconciliation buffer ends, Blacklight reconciles delivered packages and creates a draft invoice only for delivered usage above the prepaid minimum.

Accepted participant requests consume reserved capacity when they are created, even though final flexible-capacity reconciliation is based on delivered packages. Pending requests can delay reconciliation until their delivery state is resolved.

A hard cap prevents additional accepted requests after reserved capacity is exhausted. An approval-before-expansion arrangement requires written approval before Blacklight raises the reserved capacity or spending cap. Charges will not exceed the accepted spending cap unless the parties approve an amendment in writing.

Unless the accepted event quote states otherwise, the capacity fee and prepaid minimum commitment are nonrefundable after event activation. Cancellation, rescheduling, extensions, and credits are governed by the accepted quote and any written amendment.

Sponsorship funds participant access but does not grant the sponsor participant names, contact information, resumes, request logs, portal access, or recruiting rights. Recruiting or mailing-list follow-up requires a separate voluntary participant choice and is not created by event funding.

Partner Account Cancellation, Closure, And Deletion

If a partner account uses recurring billing, cancellation generally stops renewal for the next term rather than erasing the current paid or invoiced term. Access may remain active through the end of the current paid or invoiced period unless a separate written agreement or overdue policy says otherwise.

Closing a partner account ends service access, but it does not automatically forgive unpaid invoices, erase contract obligations, or require immediate deletion of all account records.

Data deletion requests are handled separately from account cancellation or closure. We may delete or minimize service data where supported, while retaining billing, contract, audit, security, legal-hold, tax, collections, fraud-review, and dispute-resolution records as allowed or required by law.

Delivery, Status, And Resends

Blacklight generally delivers outputs through request-linked status and delivery flows. Delivery may include email notifications, tokenized status links, attachments where available, and hosted status or download pages.

Delivery timing is an estimate, not a guarantee. Queue volume, support review, output issues, partner routing, and operational problems can affect timing.

We may resend status or delivery links when appropriate, but we are not required to keep every request available indefinitely.

Refunds, Credits, And Corrections

For a direct paid request, Blacklight's stated quality guarantee applies after the bounded automated generation, refinement, and integrity-check sequence. If a grounded, usable package remains below the internal service standard, Blacklight delivers the files and issues one full refund. If a final integrity blocker remains, Blacklight does not release the files and issues one full refund.

For a partner-funded request, the participant is not charged and does not receive a refund. A quality-guarantee outcome is handled through the partner arrangement by excluding the request from applicable plan or event billing or restoring the applicable service capacity.

The quality guarantee concerns Blacklight's internal service standard. It does not guarantee interviews, offers, compensation, or employment outcomes, and it does not create a customer-requested rewriting service after delivery.

Other refunds, credits, corrections, or resend accommodations may be offered at our discretion or under another stated policy. Except where the quality guarantee or applicable law controls, we may deny or limit a request where required information was not provided, the request was abusive or fraudulent, or the dispute is based primarily on preference rather than a service failure.

Nothing in this section limits rights you may have under applicable law.

Partner-Hosted And Partner-Referred Flows

Some Blacklight services are offered through partner programs such as library systems, workforce organizations, school districts, colleges, universities, job fairs, hiring events, or other institutions. If you use a partner-hosted or partner-referred Blacklight flow, Blacklight may still process the request and deliver the outputs, while the partner may fund, route, monitor, or receive limited visibility into the request consistent with that program.

Partner operations may include hosted intake links, embedded intake, role-scoped portal access, support routing, and aggregate reporting exports. Those controls do not override these Terms unless a separate written agreement specifically says otherwise.

Submitting a special-event or sponsored-program request does not automatically open a standard trial, create an event workspace, approve billing, or change usage caps until Blacklight confirms the setup.

School And Student-Serving Programs

Blacklight is not offered as a child-directed public service. If a school district, K-12 career-readiness program, college, or university uses Blacklight, that use is expected to occur through an institution-led workflow rather than through unsupervised public child signup.

The institution remains responsible for its own program approvals, disclosures, supervision, and compliance obligations for the way it chooses to use Blacklight.

AI-Assisted And Automated Output

Blacklight uses AI-assisted and automated tools in parts of the service. The resume workflow may create bounded candidate versions, apply automated refinement, score or evaluate outputs, reject regressed candidates, and stop release when deterministic integrity checks still find a blocker.

Blacklight does not manually approve every resume and does not offer customer-requested rewriting as part of a completed order. Use the support path for factual processing errors, missing or corrupted files, incorrect contact information, or delivery problems.

You are responsible for reviewing final outputs before use.

Service Changes And Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, tiers, workflows, and delivery methods at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Acceptable Use Restrictions

• Do not scrape, reverse engineer, or automate access to protected parts of the service without authorization
• Do not upload malicious code or abusive content
• Do not use the service to deceive others, violate law, or misuse another person’s identity or information
• Do not interfere with the service, its infrastructure, or other users

Third-Party Services

Blacklight relies on third-party providers for payments, email delivery, hosting, storage, authentication, scheduling/meeting workflows, and AI/model services. We are not responsible for outages or failures caused by those providers, although we may take reasonable steps to restore service or provide workarounds.

For public website pages, Blacklight may notify search engines, crawler services, or indexing protocols when public URLs are published, changed, or removed.

Disclaimers And Liability Limits

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will always be available, that outputs will be error-free, or that outputs will meet every expectation or deadline.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising from the service, even if advised that such damages were possible.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blacklight’s total liability for an individual paid request will not exceed the amount paid for that request. For a partner-account claim not tied to one request, Blacklight’s total liability will not exceed the fees paid or payable to Blacklight under the applicable partner agreement during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limits do not reduce payment obligations already incurred and do not exclude liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Termination And Suspension

We may suspend, limit, or terminate access if we reasonably believe your use violates these Terms, presents security, fraud, legal, billing, or operational risk, or would harm the service or other users.

We may also restrict or close partner access for nonpayment under the applicable billing workflow even if billing, invoice, or collections records continue to be retained after service access ends.

Provisions that by their nature should continue after suspension, cancellation, or termination remain effective, including accrued payment obligations, ownership, retained evidence, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute-related records.

Changes To These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes apply prospectively. We will update the date or version and, where the change materially affects partner billing, authorization, or portal access, may require an authorized user to review and affirmatively accept the revised Terms before continuing.

A new Terms version does not rewrite the Terms, authorization, usage, invoice, or audit record that applied to an earlier transaction. Blacklight may preserve each accepted version and its acceptance evidence for billing, security, legal, and dispute purposes.
